Delta Worker Busted For Stealing $258K From JFK Airport: Feds
A Delta Airlines ramp worker was arrested Thursday for stealing a bag full of cash at JFK Airport, prosecutors said.
QUEENS — A Delta Airlines ramp worker was arrested Thursday for stealing a bag full of $258,000 in cash at JFK Airport, federal prosecutors announced.
Prosecutors say Delta ground services employee Quincy Thorpe stole the money as he scanned and loaded the bags onto a flight due for Miami, Florida, court records show.
The bag of money disappeared Tuesday from an armored car owned by a security company, according to the complaint.

The cash was reported missing after the plane landed in Miami, and authorities immediately started questioning crew members who were on the Delta flight, the New York Daily News reported.
Thorpe became a suspect when he called in sick two days in a row after the theft, according to the complaint.

"The alleged actions of this employee are unacceptable and in no way reflect the professionalism and values we expect from Delta team members," a Delta spokesperson said in a statement to the New York Post.
"We are taking this situation very seriously and working directly with authorities on their investigation as well as conducting an internal investigation of our own."
Thorpe was released Thursday on $80,000 bond, according to a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York.
The stolen cash is still missing, the Post reported.
