Burglar Snags Just One Power Tool In Kew Gardens Break-In: NYPD
A burglar who broke into an Austin Street apartment building's locked basement left with just a single power tool, police said.
KEW GARDENS, QUEENS -- Police are searching for a man who broke into the locked basement of a Kew Gardens apartment complex and walked away with a single power tool.
The burglar stole the $100 construction tool from a complex near 84th Road and Austin Street on June 6, cops told Patch. The NYPD released surveillance videos on Wednesday of him leisurely strolling through the building's basement.
A 36-year-old maintenance worker was the first to suspect foul play, calling police at around 10:30 p.m. that night when he noticed the locked basement door had been damaged, an NYPD spokesman said.

The man, estimated to be in his fifties, fled on foot after stealing the power tool, police said. He was last seen wearing a light tan jacket and dark pants.
