Burglar Targets Jewish School, Synagogue In Kew Gardens: NYPD

The masked thief, who has hit the same school four times since November, was most recently caught on tap sneaking in through a window.

KEW GARDENS, QUEENS -- A masked burglar was caught on tape in breaking into a private Jewish school in Kew Gardens for the fourth time since November, police said Friday.

Cops are searching for the man who's stolen hundreds of dollars in quarters, electronics, and other goods from Yeshiva Shaar Hatora and a nearby synagogue over the past five months.

The thief broke into the Jewish school at 1117-06 84th Ave. for the first time on Nov. 19, stealing two pairs of headphones worth around $200 at around 2 a.m., cops said.

He returned months later on March 17 at around 4 a.m. to steal a laptop and computer accessories worth around $200, authorities said. A week later, he snuck in through a rear door at around 3:30 a.m. and stole $600 in quarters from a soda machine.

The thief committed his next heist on April 7 at the Khal Adas Yereim synagogue less than a half mile away at 122-31 Metropolitan Ave. He snuck in through a side door at around 2:30 a.m. and swiped two charity boxes with an unknown amount of cash, police said.

He returned to the school on April 28 for his latest break-in, where he was caught on tape wearing a black mask and all black clothing as he slid into a classroom through a basement window at around 5 a.m. He stole another $300 from a soda machine before taking off, cops said.
