New Parking Lot To Open At Queens Borough Hall
The new lot with more than 300 parking spaces will open on Monday over the building's old parking garage, which was demolished in 2014.

KEW GARDENS, QUEENS -- Kew Gardens will boast more than 300 new parking spaces come Monday as Queens Borough Hall's much-anticipated lot opens to replenish parking spaces not seen since its old parking garage was demolished nearly four years ago.
The brand new municipal parking lot will open up over the Queens Borough Hall Parking Garage's old location at 80-25 126th Street on March 26, the city's Department of Transportation announced on Friday.
It will feature 302 parking spaces, including seven that are handicap accessible, seven for motorcycles and four equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, a DOT spokesperson said.

Drivers can pay for parking in the Queens Borough Hall lot using the meters stationed at each spot or on their phones via the ParkNYC app, according to the DOT.

The new lot replaces the parking spaces Kew Gardens lost when Queens Borough Hall's four-level parking deck shut down on Sept. 24, 2014. The garage, which had opened in November 1963, was demolished because of structural safety concerns, the DOT said.
