Queens College Marks 80th Anniversary With Congressional Record
Congresswoman Grace Meng visited Queens College to honor the school's 80th anniversary.

KEW GARDENS, QUEENS -- Queens College recently celebrated its 80th anniversary with a visit from Congresswoman Grace Meng, who marked the occasion with a Congressional Record.
U.S. Rep. Meng (D-Queens) paid a visit to Queens College in Kew Gardens on Friday to present President Felix V. Matos Rodríguez with the Congressional Record for its anniversary in person.
In the anniversary recognition Meng wrote for Congressional Record, she highlighted the accomplishments and successes of Queens College, a four-year school in the City University of New York system that opened in October 1937.

Queens College was ranked tenth in the nation among public colleges that help students move up the ladder of economic and social class levels by the Chronicle of Higher Education. The college also sat among the top 5 percent of nearly 28,000 degree-granting institutions worldwide in the Center for World University Ratings.
“The college has received much well-deserved praise and recognition, and continues to be a trailblazing beacon of higher education," Meng said.

Queens College, which is located in Meng's Congressional District, marked its 80th anniversary in October. The college enrolls nearly 20,000 students from 170 countries each year, Meng said.
