Bellone Invites Residents to Smithtown Run
Training run leads up to Suffolk marathon on Sept. 13
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone invites residents to join him for the second Suffolk County Marathon and Half Marathon Training Run on Wednesday, June 24.
The run starts at the Smithtown Running Company, 191 E Main St., Smithtown, at 6:30 p.m. Join County Executive Steve Bellone on a three-mile loop. Runners can do 3, 6 or 9 miles.
All runners will receive one free beer at Napper Tandy’s Restaurant.

Please note that this is a training run. There is no charge. Roads will not be closed, and traffic laws must be obeyed.

All net proceeds generated from the Suffolk County Marathon will go toward enhancing local veteran services. Suffolk County is home to the largest veterans population in New York State.
The marathon is part of the 2015 Veterans Running Series, a series of six races around Suffolk County to raise funds for local veterans services.
The next in the series, the Lt. Michael P. Murphy 4-Mile Run Around the Lake, Lake Ronkonkoma, is Saturday.
