Bellone Joins Smithtown Celebration

New Smythe Statue Commemorates Town's 350th Anniversary

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone recently joined hundreds of Smithtown residents, community leaders and elected officials – including Congressman Lee Zeldin, Town Supervisor Patrick Vecchio, Village of Nissequogue Mayor Richard Smith and Village of Branch Mayor Tom Keon – to commemorate the town’s 350th anniversary by unveiling the new Richard “Bull Rider” Smythe statue.

The life-size bronze statue of Smythe, the founder of Smithtown, was commissioned by the Damianos Realty Group, and is located on the lawn in front of the Damianos Realty Group office building located on 180 East Main Street.
