Cops: Man Caught Selling Bootlegged DVDs at Gas Station

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Robert DeCosta Jr., 37, of Kings Park was arrested on Nov. 7 and charged with driving while intoxicated - first offense. Police said DeCosta was driving on Landing Avenue in Smithtown, driving on the wrong side of the roadway when he lost control of his vehicle striking a landscaping boulder and a parked vehicle. Officers called to the scene of the accident found DeCosta was intoxicated. 

Yasin Akkaya, 33, of Centereach was arrested on Nov. 3 in Kings Park and charged with one felony count of second-degree trademark counterfeiting. Akkaya was found at the Gulf Gas Station on East Main Street in Kings Park, attempting to sell roughly 120 bootlegged DVDs.
