Coronavirus: Suffolk Woman Raises Money, Sends Food To Hospitals
Over $5,000 worth of food will go to local hospitals battling the new coronavirus over the next few weeks. A couple of deliveries were made.

KINGS PARK, NY — After Juliana Fetherman raised over $5,300 towards food for hospital workers on the front lines of the new coronavirus pandemic, the first batch of deliveries were made. Meals were sent to Stony Brook University Hospital and St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown last week.
Fetherman, 23, of Kings Park, raised over $2,800 on GoFundMe after initially setting the bar at $1,000 when she created it March 31. Ciro's, an Italian restaurant in Kings Park, donated $2,500 and supplied the first wave of food. Fetherman's goal is to support small businesses in the Town of Smithtown area while feeding health care workers, adding that more deliveries will go out over the next few weeks to the Stony Brook and St. Catherine hospitals.
"It's important to help the people who are risking their lives on the front lines right now," Fetherman told Patch.
