FC Barcelona To Construct New Soccer Academy In Kings Park [RENDERINGS]

The 21,000 square-foot facility is expected to be completed in 2019.

KINGS PARK, NY - The professional soccer club FC Barcelona will be building a new 21,000-square-foot soccer academy in Kings Park, the club announced recently.

“We foresee some 2,000 boys and girls playing at our facilities,” Club CEO Oscar Grau said in a statement.

The facility will include 10 artificial and natural grass playing fields. The club will also be sending coaches from Barcelona to work at the facility.

Training camps are expected to begin in Dec. 2017; the whole facility is expected to open in 2019.


According to a presentation by FC Barcelona, there are a total of 60,000 soccer players and 3,500 teams on Long Island.

Last week, the members of the club have approved with 283 votes in favor, 21 blank and 25 against.

The project is part of the expansion of FC Barcelona in the United States which began in September 2016.
