Lifelong Kings Park Resident Celebrates 104th Birthday
Florence Blydenburgh, who goes by "Flo" or "Flossie," said she stays young by "doing whatever I want."

KINGS PARK, NY — Florence Blydenburgh, a lifelong Kings Park resident who goes by "Flo" or "Flossie," celebrated her 104th birthday this summer on Aug. 23. Blydenburgh currently resides at St. Johnland Nursing Center, which is also in Kings Park.
Her parents were born in Ireland, though she grew up in the town she would call home for her entire life, according to a recent news release. She was a secretary and has expressed many fond memories of places in Kings Park as well as her travels to Ireland and France.
She enjoys reading biography books, and the newspaper; she has her own personal subscription to Newsday. She also reads magazines (US, People) and said, "I like the gossip."

Flo enjoys listening to 1940s music and often reminisces of the days she danced with her husband, Walter. She watches Sunday Catholic Mass weekly and states "I won’t miss it." Flo also enjoys watching "Judge Judy" and the news.
In the past, she enjoyed gardening and stated she stays young by "doing whatever I want."
