Longtime Kings Park Resident John Gallagher, Dies
John Gallagher, known by many for his generous acts of volunteerism and community service passed away Friday.

Known to many as a champion of causes and often willing to lend a hand, John Gallagher of Kings Park, passed away Friday.
John was frequently seen around the community with a camera in his hand and a smile on his face.
John was part of the committee that helped bring to life the town's now annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. He was a frequent contributor to Patch and often spoke of his family, shared pictures of his grandchildren and of his faith.
John, whose son Chris uses a wheelchair, was on hand when the ribbon was cut after the Kings Park Library received a renovation, which made the building handicapped accessible.
John was also part of Patch's series on the ten-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. He told Patch then he was forever changed that day.
"The reality of the end of us all sent my mind to thoughts of losing my wife, children and grandchildren and to this day I have a much more focused vision on these true blessings that God has given me,” he said.
Those wishing to pay their respects to John and his family can do so at Clayton's Funeral Home on Saturday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4: 30 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held for John on Sunday at St. Joseph's Church at 9:30 a.m.
Please join us in wishing the Gallagher family condolences and peace at this sad time.
