Wednesday's weather has Long Islanders thinking of spring, but alas, it was too good to be true. High temperatures will actually remain above normal for the next week, but the sun is going on hiatus until Monday and we've got some dreary, wet weather on the way.
By sunset Thursday, the temperature will be about 30 degrees lower than the high of 60 hit on Wednesday at Long Island MacArthur Airport. We may also be dealing with some sleet come Thursday night.
There's rain in the forecast every day through Sunday. There's no snow on the horizon, at least through the end of the month. March may come in like a lion, though.

"We will be watching for a southward dip in the jet stream over the Northeastern states during early March," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok says.
"While the colder air slated for early March will not pack the punch of early January, it may get cold enough for more storms to come about with snow," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dale Mohler says.
