Congratulations to the St. Joseph’s 6th grade boys travel basketball team! After coming in 2nd place in their league during the regular season, the team advanced in the first round of the Nassau/Suffolk CYO playoffs with a 32-31 victory over St. Raymond’s of East Rockaway.

Despite being down 7 points in the 4th quarter, the boys kept their composure and rallied to take the lead with 19 seconds remaining. In the typical hard-nosed fashion displayed throughout the regular season, the team played tight defense the rest of the way to seal the victory. With the win, the team improved its record to 10-3 and will now face St. Bernard’s of Levittown on March 14 at 2pm in the quarterfinals.
