Volunteers Needed for Suffolk Marathon

Race on Sept. 13 will benefit Suffolk veterans causes

at Heckscher State Park, East Islip

Both races start at 8:00 am and we need many volunteers to help put on a successful race!!

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY VOLUNTEERED I WILL BE CONTACTING YOU WITH SPECIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR ASSIGNMENT APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE RACE.

Volunteers are needed at the Expo to help stuff goody bags, as well as hand out race numbers, shirts and goody bags. The Expo will take place on Friday, Sept. 11th and Saturday, Sept. 12th at the John A. Danzi Athletic Center, St. Joseph’s College, Patchogue

EXPO VOLUNTEERS: You can either volunteer all day or for a shift as follows:

Friday: Expo Hours 3:00pm to 8:00pm

Goody Bag stuffing from noon on (you can also continue to work packet pickup)

SHIFTS:

2:30pm-5:30pm, 5pm-8pm

OR full shift from 2:30pm to 8pm

Saturday: Expo Hours 10:00am to 3pm

SHIFTS: 9:30 to 12:30, 12pm-3pm

OR full shift 9:30am to 3:00pm

Race day volunteers are still needed:

* start and finish area

* course marshals

* split callers

* clean up!! (will be a later starting and ending volunteer position)

Volunteers will need to be available from before the 8:00 am race start (maybe as early as 6:30 am) until the end of the race which will be 6 hours after the start, or at least until 2:00 pm. Some assignments may start either a little earlier or later, or continue after 2pm.
