Woman In Passenger Seat Seriously Injured In 1-Car Suffolk Crash
The driver swerved to avoid a car making a U-turn in front of him, causing the car to roll over and hit a utility pole, police say.
KINGS PARK, NY — A 59-year-old Kings Park woman was seriously injured during a car crash in Kings Park on Saturday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
A 63-year-old Kings Park man was driving a 2006 Ford Mustang eastbound on Fort Salonga Road near the intersection of the Sunken Meadow Parkway when he swerved to avoid another vehicle that made a U-turn in front him, police said. He lost control of the car before it rolled over several times and hit a utility pole at 2:25 p.m., police said.
The woman, who was in the passenger seat, was seriously injured and brought via Suffolk County Police Helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital. The man suffered minor injuries and was brought to the same hospital. Police did not confirm the pair's relationship to one another.
