LARCHMONT, NY — Pandemic-related restrictions are being eased across the region, allowing small audiences to once again attend film, stage performances, exhibits and concerts. Here are a few of the best reasons to venture out of the house to enjoy a show. Safety remains the top priority, so we also added a few virtual ways to enjoy a night out without leaving home.

ADVENTURE: Opening - The long awaited opening weekend of the Castle Fun Center is finally upon us. After a more than year-long closure, Go Karts, roller skating, axe throwing, rock climbing, amusement park rides, mini-golf and zip lines are once again options (albeit with occupancy and social distancing restrictions). LIBATIONS: Gin tasting featuring Fords Gin - When happy hour with friends on Zoom just isn’t fun anymore, it might be time to bring a little sophistication to your highball glass. BIRD FANCY: Spring birding walk at the Sheldrake Center - This all ages outdoor escape is free of charge thanks to the support of Con Edison. Binoculars are helpful, but not required. The birdwatching adventure takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, at the Sheldrake Environmental Center in Larchmont 914-834-1443

LIVE EVENT : Build a Sloth - School age children will learn how to create a simple sloth made from polymer clay. The fun really begins when the kids use their own imaginations to dress the “newborn” creatures in zany outfits. Sessions for children ages 5 to 8 and separate sessions for children ages 9 to 12 years-old take place on Saturday, March 20, at the Rye Arts Center 914-967-0700

VIRTUAL GALA: Marquee Night 2021 - The Pelham Picture House’s annual awards celebration is meant to be a formal affair at the historic and lovingly restored theater. Since the event this Saturday, March 20, will take place virtually, guests have special permission to “watch from home in festive attire — or pajamas — no one will know!” Bidding in the ongoing silent online auction to help raise funds for the non-profit will close on Sunday, March 21. VIRTUAL LIVE PERFORMANCE: Oisin in Tir na n-Og - Hannah Sloat and harpist Alyssa Reit retell the classic Irish myth Oisin in Tir na n-Og via Zoom on Sunday, March 21 at 2 p.m..
