Arrests Made: 2 Police Chases In 2 Days On The NE Thruway

In two separate incidents, drivers on I-95 in Westchester made the ill-advised decision to run from NY State Troopers. Both were arrested.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — In two separate incidents, taking place almost exactly 12 hours apart, drivers on the New England Thruway made futile attempts to evade the long arm of the law. In both cases, the motorists eventually ended up in custody.

The first police chase involving New York State Troopers happened just after 10 p.m. Thursday night. State Police attempted to stop the car on I-95 in Mamaroneck for motor vehicle and traffic violations. Instead, the car accelerated away and continued to head north. A short car chase ensued, but troopers ended the pursuit for safety reasons before the chase reached a work zone with lane closures.

It turns out troopers didn’t need to continue the pursuit.

The second I-95 police chase involving state police occurred just after 10:00 a.m the next day. Police report attempting to stop a vehicle on I-95 in the town of Harrison for motor vehicle and traffic violations.
