Coastal Flood Advisory Issued for Sound Shore
Breaking: Minor flooding could occur around the times of high tide between Friday and early Saturday morning along the South Sound Shore.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for southern Westchester County from midnight Friday night until 4 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The NWS said there could be tidal departures of up to one foot above ground level. The areas vulnerable to flooding are expected to be limited to land near the shoreline.
Minor coastal flooding could affect some roads and low lying properties, including parking lots around the times of high tide on Friday.

Additional minor flooding is possible around the times of high tide on Saturday night.
The NWS said that the majority of roads will remain passable with only isolated closures and that there is no significant threat to life, but travelers in the affected areas are advised to allow extra time to reach their destinations. Motorists are warned not to drive around barricades or through any water on the roadway of unknown depth.
