DeCicco's Sets Aside Special Shopping Times For Seniors

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — To accommodate seniors and customers who may be immunocompromised during the new coronavirus outbreak, DeCicco & Sons has set aside special shopping times every day beginning Monday. From 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. DeCicco stores will be reserved for customers age 65 and up and immunocompromised families who must shop in the store.

DeCicco said they recommend ordering online or having someone shop for you.
They are asking all other customers to respect the set-aside time and begin regular shopping at 8:30 a.m.

There are DeCicco's markets in Ardsley, Armonk, Brewster, Harrison, Larchmont, Millwood, Pelham and Somers.

On Monday, Stop and Shop announced special shopping times for older customers. Beginning Thursday, Stop and Shop will be open from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. only for customers over the age of 60 who the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health officials said are most vulnerable to COVID-19.

"Although Stop and Shop will not be requesting ID for entry, they request that we all respect the purpose of the early opening — and do the right thing for our older neighbors," a statement from the company said. "Stop and Shop will reserved the right to ask customers to leave if they are not a member of this age group."

Stop and Shop adjusted its hours of operation beginning Monday to 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. There are stores throughout the mid- and lower Hudson Valley.
