Driver Arrested On DWI Charges After Crashing In I-95 Work Zone
A Connecticut man was charged with a DWI after he rear-ended a construction truck doing roadwork near the I-95 Mamaroneck exit.
MAMARONECK, NY — New York State Troopers responding to a crash on the New England Thruway in Mamaroneck on Tuesday had ample reason to suspect the driver of being under the influence. Police say the Toyota Camry driven by Fabian Madera was approaching a construction zone when the car rear-ended a construction truck in the closed right lane.
No serious injuries were reported in the accident which occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95. It is unclear if the construction truck was occupied at the time of the wreck.
The 43-year-old Connecticut man driving the car was found to be intoxicated, according to troopers. Madera was later charged with DWI after registering 0.19% BAC while in custody.
