Duck Donuts To Open 1st Westchester Location

MAMARONECK, NY — How does it sound to spend part of your Saturday not only trying a new doughnut shop but also entering a contest to win free doughnuts for year? Well, you can because Duck Donuts is set to open its second store in New York at 8 a.m. Saturday in Mamaroneck.

To celebrate the opening, the first and 100th guests in line on both Saturday and Sunday will win a special prize package.

Plus, all customers will have the opportunity to enter to win free donuts for a year. We know you are asking, and the answer is, free donuts for a year means one dozen per month for 12 months.

The franchise is owned by husband and wife Dave and Bonnie Foncello. The store is at 805 Mamaroneck Ave. in Mamaroneck.

Bonnie Foncello said she realized Duck Donuts was a special place the first time she set foot in one.

"From the atmosphere of the store, to the aroma of the made-to-order doughnuts and taste of the delicious product," she said.

"Fresh doughnuts bring a smile to the faces of adults and children and we are so excited to have the opportunity to deliver smiles daily at our new store in Mamaroneck, the community I grew up in," Foncello said.

Duck Donuts specializes in made-to-order vanilla cake doughnuts. Customers can create their own combination by choosing from a variety of coatings, toppings and drizzles, including traditional favorites such as chocolate icing with sprinkles and more adventurous creations such as maple icing with bacon.

The store offers a viewing area where customers can watch their doughnuts being made.

While the Mamaroneck location will have abbreviated hours — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. — through Monday, doughnuts will be made fresh to order seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays and Mondays and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Duck Donuts was founded in 2006. There are now 90 open franchise locations and more than 145 additional contracts in 26 states, according to a spokeswoman.
