As live entertainment slowly returns to the Hudson Valley, social distancing, mask wearing and common sense remain on the program.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Pandemic-related restrictions continue to be eased across the region, allowing small audiences to once again attend films, stage performances, exhibits and concerts.

Here are just a few of the best reasons to venture out of the house to enjoy a show. Safety remains the top priority, so we also added a few virtual ways to enjoy a night out without leaving home.


FARMERS MARKET: Larchmont 2021 Down to Earth Farmers Market - Farm stands, crafts, street food, cocktails, meat and cheese, fresh seafood, entertainment and even something for man’s best friend. What more could anyone want? The market is open Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Starting this weekend through mid-December. Located in the Metro North upper parking lot at Chatsworth Avenue.

VIRTUAL STAGE PERFORMANCE: An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde - This student production of the 1895 Wilde play can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home. OUTDOOR FAMILY FUN: Spring Nature Scavenger Hunt at Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary - The nature sanctuary in Rye promises to offer wonders of nature that may be taken for granted. There will be clues to look for and then later create art from the clues. Social distancing protocols will be in place. Face masks are required. Tickets are free. BLESS THE WATERS: Bless the Esopus, May its Waters Run Clear - “Join the spring awakening. Come by kayak, foot or car to the beach and join in our clean waters celebration with songsters, poets, writers, and crafters.” There is no good way to bless a waterway virtually so it might be best to head to Saugerties and celebrate in person.
