Expect Summer Roadwork and Possible Bottlenecks: Mayor
Mamaroneck Mayor Tom Murphy is warning about possible traffic tie-ups as at least a half-dozen road repair projects are scheduled to start.
MAMARONECK, NY — Warning of potential bottlenecks, Mamaroneck Mayor Tom Murphy is telling drivers to expect a surge of road work in the area just as summer kicks into high gear.
Murphy said that the Department of Public Works will coordinate with the agencies in charge of the projects to make the infrastructure work as painlessly as possible in the village. He said traffic congestion and delays are still possible and he advised motorists to avoid the planned work zones, if at all possible.
There are more than a half-dozen upcoming roadwork projects planned in the area.
