MAMARONECK, NY — After a particularly challenging end to their senior year due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the French-American School of New York Class of 2020 stood up to adversity and excelled with their baccalaureate results.

For the 12th year in a row, French Baccalaureate graduates achieved a 100 percent success rate, higher than the 95.7 percent worldwide. This year, 97.5 percent of FASNY’s 41 French Bac students finished with honors versus 69 percent worldwide, and 56 percent of the class finished with the highest honors, towering over the worldwide percentage of 17 percent.

The 16 FASNY students completing the 2020 International Baccalaureate also excelled, with a 100 percent success rate. Not only did the FASNY IB students score an average of 35 points out of 45, higher than the world average of 29.9, but 20 percent obtained 40 points and above, worldwide this result is less than 10 percent. A new FASNY record was set in the Class of 2020 with a high score of 43. In addition, 88 percent of the students in this year's cohort pursued and obtained a bilingual IB diploma, according to a spokeswoman.
