LM Lions Work At, Make Donation To Visions Camp For The Blind
In addition to the cabin sponsorship, the LM Lions donated $1000 to the operation of the camp.

On Saturday, June 5, the Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions volunteered at the VCB Summer Camp, to prepare for the season’s blind campers and their families.
The VCB camp, located in Rockland County, is a summer camp for the blind/vision impaired and their families in our area. It is specially designed to encourage freedom of movement and independence. The camp is supported by many Lions Clubs in the Hudson Valley & NYC area. LM Lions sponsor a camper cabin and are responsible for its upkeep and preparation for each camping season.
In addition to the cabin sponsorship, the LM Lions donated $1000 to the operation of the camp.
VCB is a part of VISIONS is a nonprofit rehabilitation and social service organization whose purpose is to develop and implement programs to assist the blind or visually impaired of all ages to lead independent and active lives in their homes and communities. VISIONS and the camp provide individualized rehabilitation training at home or in the community, social services, employment training and job development, group and community education and activities.
The Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions focus on supporting existing non-profit and community service groups by bringing community service leaders together to determine needs, solutions and resources. The LM Lions are part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization of nearly1.5 million members. The Lions have 6 core causes. The Lions signature cause Vision/Blindness, along with Hunger, the Environment, Diabetes, Childhood Cancer and the future of our Youth. They are signatories of the United Nations resolutions on women’s and refugee rights.
