Screening include blood pressure checks, glucose screenings, vision tests, HIV testing and dental screenings.
MAMARONECK, NY — On Saturday, August 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Mamaroneck and Sound Shore residents will have free access to healthcare providers and screenings, along with family friendly music and activities at the Fourth Annual Access to Care Health Fair. The health fair is scheduled rain or shine and will be held outdoors at Sheldrake Place in Mamaroneck, as well as indoors at the adjacent Open Door Family Medical Center at 689 Mamaroneck Ave.
The Open Door mobile Dental Van will be on hand for free screenings for children and adults, as well, according to organizers.
The health fair marks a local kickoff for National Health Center Week, August 13-19, under the theme “Celebrating America’s Health Centers: The Key to Healthier Communities.” Open Door is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a pioneer in the field of community health centers. The National Association of Community Heath Centers estimates that one in every 15 people living in the United States depends on health center services.
