Mamaroneck Health Fair To Provide Screenings, Exhibits, Fun

The event is free and open to the public.

MAMARONECK, NY — On Saturday, August 10, Sound Shore residents will have access to healthcare providers, screenings and vital information about health and well-being at the sixth Annual Access to Care Health Fair. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Open Door Family Medical Centers in Mamaroneck from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During the course of the day, community members can take advantage of a range of health screenings and services, including blood pressure checks, dental and vision assessments, HIV screenings, diabetes risk screening and more. The health fair will be held rain or shine in the covered parking lot of Open Door’s facility, which is located at 689 Mamaroneck Avenue.

Exams or testing that require privacy will be conducted inside the facility. In addition to the screenings, New York Life will provide identification cards for all children. Spanish-speaking residents will be able to speak with bilingual volunteers and healthcare professionals.

Fun activities, including a bouncy castle, will keep kids engaged while their parents or caregivers consult with healthcare providers. And there will be plenty of give-aways — from healthy snacks to vital information about health, wellness and community resources.

Major sponsors of the Health Fair include the Rye YMCA, Community Resource Center, Open Door Family Medical Centers, Montefiore/New Rochelle and Greenwich Hospital. Goods and services will also be donated by PepsiCo, Costco, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and Stop & Shop.
