MAMARONECK, NY — The nameplate on the door to the Mamaroneck Town Administrator's office is about to change for the first time in more than 39 years.

The Town of Mamaroneck has named Meredith Robson as the new Town Administrator to replace long-time Town Administrator Stephen Altieri, who announced his retirement earlier this year. Robson has served as the Village Manager in Ardsley since 2014. Prior to her tenure in Ardsley, she was the Beacon City Administrator for six years.

Mamaroneck started its search for a new town administrator in January, soon after Altieri announced he would retire. A search committee with Supervisor Nancy Seligson, Deputy Supervisor Jaine Elkind Eney and Councilwoman Sabrina Fiddelman was formed.

Four of the applicants were invited to Zoom interviews. The field was then narrowed to three candidates, who were invited to in-person interviews. Robson soon emerged as the top candidate and she was introduced to the full board on April 26.

A contract was approved by the board on June 2.

In the end, Robson’s years of municipal government experience and her leadership roles in Hudson Valley river towns helped provide a competitive edge.

“We look forward to working with Meredith who will be able to hit the ground running with her experience and skills,” Seligson said.

Robson is expected to begin her new job full time by August 2. She says, however, that she will begin interacting with the community right away.
