Mamaroneck Native Gail Sheehy Dies At 83

Sheehy was a journalist who profiled prominent newsmakers.

MAMARONECK, NY — Journalist Gail Sheehy, who profiled such newsmakers as Hillary Clinton, Margaret Thatcher and Mikhail Gorbachev, died Monday at the age of 83. Her daughter said the cause of death was complications of pneumonia.

Sheehy was born and raised in Mamaroneck, the New York Times said.

She was married to Clay Felker, the co-founder of New York magazine. He died in 2008.

One of Sheehy's articles for New York magazine was a profile of Edith Bouvier Beale, known as Little Edie. The article was titled "The Secret of Grey Gardens."
