MAMARONECK, NY — Two Mamaroneck police officers are being recognized as heroes after risking their own lives to save the occupants of a burning car on Saturday night.
The crash victims would likely not have survived if not for the quick efforts of officers Fraioli and Tunno, according to a statement from The Village of Mamaroneck PBA. Fortunately for the car crash victims, the two officers involved were in the middle of a traffic stop on Boston Post Road and witnessed the high speed crash as it happened. The cops quickly reacted and were able to free the occupants trapped in the burning car despite the intense flames at the accident scene.
Larchmont Police Department members Sgt. Colletti and Officer D’Alesandro were also credited with putting their own safety at risk to save lives in the rescue efforts.
