Manager Of Sal's Pizzeria In Mamaroneck Dies At 49

Salvatore DeRose Jr. grew up behind the counter at the popular pizzeria.

MAMARONECK, NY — The manager of Sal’s Pizzeria in Mamaroneck, Salvatore DeRose Jr., died Saturday at the age of 49. He grew up behind the counter of the 53-year Westchester institution known for Sicilian slices and New York-style pies, lohud.com said.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 27 at Coxe & Graziano Funder Home, 767 E. Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 28 at the Church of the Resurrection, 910 Boston Post Road in Rye.

Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsale.
