Mother Accused Of Killing 2-Year-Old Offered Plea Deal
The child's father is in the process of suing police, prosecutors and child protection works.
MAMARONECK, NY — The woman accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter was offered a plea deal that would give her no extra prison time for stabbing two police officers. Cynthia Arce was offered 25 years to life if she pleaded guilty in the death of her child.
Arce initially turned the offer down Tuesday in court, according to the Journal News.
The judge said it would only be available until Sept. 6 which is her next court appearance.

Cynthia Arce, Gabriella Boyd's mother, was charged with second-degree murder, a felony, in the death of her daughter.
Arce is also accused of attacking two police officers and was charged with two counts of attempted aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated assault upon a police officer and two counts of second-degree assault, all felonies.

Prosecutors said, on April 28, Village of Mamaroneck police responded to Chestnut Avenue where Arce lived with her mother and daughter, following a call from Arce's mother, who reported that someone was dying.
Gabriella was found unresponsive on her bed.
Arce was found in an adjacent room with two large knives, one in each hand. Officers said she charged at them.
Stephen Boyd, who is Gabriella's father, is suing police, prosecutors and child protection works, claiming they didn't enforce a court order that would have separated the child from her mother.
