No Boredom Allowed:Events in the Area this Weekend

Here are some events and other things to do for a summer weekend.

In this region of the state there is no excuse to be bored. How about some melody for a summer evening? Or a nice afternoon at an art show?

Here are some suggestions in the area in the next few days.

The Italian Cultural Heritage Celebration is on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. The event features food and more, and will be held rain or shine. Seating is informal; bring blankets or folding chairs for seating on the lawn. The plaza is at 1 Bronx River Parkway in Valhalla.

A group of artists has brought a successful exhibit, “Breaking Surface,” to Peekskill from New York City. The show consists of photographs and moving image artworks which explore the border between water and air. “Breaking Surface” is at Gallery @ The Flatz, 1008 Main Street, Peekskill, NY 10566. The show runs through August 30. The gallery is open Friday through Sunday, and other days by appointment. Read the full article here.
