'Skull Patrol' Rewards Larchmont Kids Who Wear Helmets
Local merchants are offering rewards to encourages kids to wear helmets for bike safety.
LARCHMONT, NY - The Larchmont Chamber of Commerce, along with Larchmont Police, are trying an unusual campaign to get kids to wear their biking helmets: by offering gifts.
The gift-giving campaign is called "Skull Patrol" and kicked off in May. Police who see kids wearing helmets in downtown will reward them with gift cards, the chamber announced, which can be redeemed for prizes.
Several local merchants are acting as sponsors.
