Spring Snow Arriving: Hour-by-hour Forecast for Larchmont, Mamaroneck

We tell you when to expect the frozen precipitation.

A light snow is forecast to overspread the lower Hudson Valley Sunday afternoon into Monday.

While the National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook, it is calling it a “light snowfall event.”

Throughout the area, no more than 2 inches is expected. Long Island and points toward the northeast will likely see more.

AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson said the recent warmth will make it difficult for the snow to build up on road surfaces during the daylight hours.

“Snow will have a hard time sticking to roadways, especially during the daylight hours when temperatures will be above freezing,” he said.

Here is the snowfall breakdown for Larchmont and Mamaroneck:

Sunday 3 p.m.-8 p.m.: 38 degrees with 0.01 inches rain

Sunday 8 p.m.-Monday 2 a.m.: 33 degrees with 0.8 inches snow

Monday 2 a.m.-8 a.m.: 31 degrees with 1.0 inch snow.
