Two Drives in Two Weeks to Support the Community
Thanks to member and community response both drives provide much needed funds and items.
The Philanthropy Committee of the Woman’s Club of Larchmont, Inc. held a drive on Saturday, April 17, and again on Saturday, May 1, 2021. The first drive was to support the Community Resource Center and the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force. Collected were requested gift cards to Stop & Shop and CVS and checks to support the two organizations.
The second drive was to assist families affected by the April 19 fire in Mamaroneck who are part of the Community Resource Center (CRC) community. Families were displaced from their homes and are either living with neighbors or staying in the Mamaroneck Motel. Gift cards to Kohl’s and Nautilus Diner and monetary donations were accepted along with donations of new bedding, towels, clothes, footwear, and toys.
Jirandy Martinez, Executive Director of CRC commented, “Thank you again for the incredible donations. It’s magnificent what you’ve been able to collect in such a short time. The families and our team will forever be grateful for your partnership!”
