Woman Accused Of Killing 2-Year-Old Daughter Enters Plea In Court

MAMARONECK, NY — Cynthia Arce pleaded guilty Thursday in court to the killing of her 2-year-old daughter. She also admitted she stabbed two Mamaroneck village police officers.

Arce said she intended to kill Gabriella Boyd, her daughter, on April 28, 2018, the Journal News reported.

She pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and attempted aggravated assault, both felonies.

Arce was offered 25 years to life for pleading guilty to killing her child.

Village police responded to Chestnut Avenue April 28, 2018, where Arce lived with her mother and daughter. They had received a call that someone was dying.

Gabriella was found on her bed unresponsive.

Arce was located in another room with two large knives, one in each hand.

Officers said that she charged at them.

Gabriella's father, Stephen Boyd, is suing authorities, including police, prosecutors and child protection workers. He is claiming that they did not enforce a court order that would have gotten his daughter away from Arce.
