3 Workers Sold Alcohol To Minors In Town Of Babylon: Police

Five Town of Babylon businesses were checked following complaints from the community, police said.

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY — Three workers were arrested Saturday night and charged with selling alcohol and/or a vaping product to minors at businesses in the Town of Babylon, Suffolk police said.

Officers from the First Precinct, in response to complaints from the community, investigated five businesses, police said.

  • Dharmendra Godhari, 34, of Amityville, employed by The Barn, at 358 Deer Park Ave., Babylon. He was charged with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor.
  • Rami Ali, 23, of Brooklyn, employed by 168B Deli, at 168b Montauk Highway, Lindenhurst. He was charged with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor, violating the sale restrictions on e-cigarettes, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • Can Topal, 29, of Lindenhurst, employed by USA Gas, at 641 N. Wellwood Ave., Lindenhurst. He was charged with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor.

The men were issued field appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on April 15, police said.
