Company Connecting Volunteers To Deliver Groceries To Seniors
A company has changed its business model in light of the coronavirus to gather volunteers to deliver groceries across Long Island.

LONG ISLAND, NY —A company that aims to help seniors about the age of 60 is helping Long Island residents now more than ever. Umbrella was created to connect seniors who need work done around the house such as odd jobs, small repairs, chores with helpers to complete these tasks for a small fee. However, in light of the coronavirus pandemic, Umbrella has changed its business model and is using its services to sign up volunteers to buy and deliver groceries to seniors.
Due to the pandemic, many seniors now cannot leave their homes and need help shopping for necessities. As a result, Umbrella started experiencing a high demand of seniors signing to have groceries delivered to their homes. The business allows for "contactless delivery" to stay within the guidelines of social distancing.
