2nd Man Dies From Injuries In Copiague Deli Shooting: PD

Suffolk police released additional information on the fatal shooting that occurred Saturday night.

COPIAGUE, NY — Suffolk police released additional information on a shooting at a Copiague deli that killed one man and seriously injured three others on Saturday.

On Sunday 62-year-old Dionicio Calderon-Oseguera, of Copiague was arrested and charged in connection to the incident, police said.

He was charged with one count of second-degree murder and three counts of second-degree attempted murder, according to police. He was held overnight and is scheduled for arraignment on Monday.

The shooting occurred at La Vaquita Corp. deli on 2340 Great Neck Road at 6:10 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene they found four men had been shot inside the deli, police said.

The man who was killed has been identified as 47-year-old Manuel Cruz-Hernandez, of Copiague, police said.

The owner of the deli, 61-year-old Bolivar Rodriguez, of Amityville, as well as 30-year-old Juan Ramone Avilla Roque, of North Amityville, and 40-year-old Daniel Acosta, of Copiague, were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries.
