Babylon Town Hosts Witness Walk This Saturday
The May 4 event aims to raise breast cancer awareness in the African American community.

Babylon Town residents will take to the streets to raise breast cancer awareness this Saturday.

The Town of Babylon’s Human Resources office will host the 10th annual Witness Walk this Saturday, May 4.
The 5.5-mile walk aims to raise awareness of breast cancer and of early detection in the African American community.
Those interested in participating can check-in at the Wyandanch Senior Nutrition Center, 28 Wyandanch Avenue in Wyandanch starting at 7:30 p.m.
Registration costs $30.
The event will start with a ribbon cutting at 8:45 a.m. before the walk steps off at 9:15 a.m.
The Witness Walk will start at the Wyandanch Center, then turn South on Straight Path toward Lindenhurst.
Walkers will then take Wellwood Avenue, then Farmers Avenue winding through back streets to North Indiana Avenue to East Sunrise Highway, going past Babylon Town Hall to North Monroe Avenue and around the pond, ending at Town Hall proper.
Local roadways are expected to be impacted by closures and delays due to the walk between 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
