Blaze Burns Down Abandoned North Amityville Home

Firefighters battled the fire in frigid temperatures for over an hour Sunday night.

NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY — Eight fire departments battled a massive blaze at an abandoned North Amityville home Sunday night.

Members of the North Amityville Fire Department responded along with assistance from the Amityville, East Farmingdale, Farmingdale, Copiague, Massapequa, Lindenhurst, and North Lindenhurst fire departments.

Firefighters battled the fire for over an hour in the frigid temperatures. Arson detectives are still investigating. No further information was immediately available.
