Brodmerkel Inducted into Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame

Lindenhurst's Paul Brodmerkel was inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame at the Sheraton on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge.

Lindenhurst wrestling legend Paul Brodmerkel was inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame at the Sheraton on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge.*

He was an outstanding wrestler who has dedicated his life to wrestling, coaching and officiating for more than thirty years, said Lindenhurst School District officials.

Coach Brodmerkel was given the Lifetime Service Award from the Long Island Chapter of the National Wresting Hall of Fame and Museum.

He was a Suffolk County champion during his years at Lindenhurst High School, and he also coached at the high school as well as at Hofstra University.

Coach Brodmerkel works at the Lindenhurst tournament every year as a director.

Lindenhurst is widely known nationally and internationally for its outstanding contributions to the sport of wrestling, noted District officials.
