Coastal Flood Advisories Issued for Long Island
BREAKING: Up to 1-foot of inundation is possible over the most vulnerable shore roads, National Weather Service says.

Coastal flood advisories have been issued for much of Long Island Tuesday morning.
In southern Nassau and southwestern Suffolk, an advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. In northern Nassau and northwestern Suffolk, an advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. until noon.
"A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore," the National Weather Service says.

Up to 1-foot of inundation is possible over the most vulnerable shore roads, but there is no significant threat to life and any impact on property will be minimal.

Rain is in the forecast all day Tuesday on Long Island. The precipitation will taper off at night, ushering in sunny skies for the rest of the work week, with highs near 60 from Wednesday-Friday.
