Driver Dies After Crashing Into Pillar Near LIRR Station
The driver was believed to be driving at an accelerated speed when the crash occurred early Saturday.
LINDENHURST, NY - A driver died after crashing into a pillar near the Lindenhurst train station early Saturday. An MTA spokesperson confirmed the driver crashed just west of the LIRR station at about 3 a.m. The driver was believed to be driving at an accelerated speed before crashing.
The deceased driver was alone in the car. The crash did not affect any trains.
The car also burst into flames following the crash, according to witnesses at the scene.
