AMITYVILLE, NY - A new restaurant recently popped up in Amityville.

Reid, an Amityville native, previously lived just a few short blocks away from the restaurant until a fire destroyed it last December, Newsday reports.

"These young men put in their blood, sweat, and tears to make their dream of opening their own restaurant a reality," Legislator DuWayne Gregory wrote in a post on Facebook. "We wish them all the luck in the world on their journey."

Bayview offers a variety of comfort Caribbean fusion foods.

The business is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays until 11 p.m. and Sundays until 3:30 p.m.
