Duo Tried To Sell Stolen Bicycle Through App: Police
The two men stole a BMX bike and later tried to sell it using the app OfferUp, formerly known as LetGo, police said.
LINDENHURST, NY — Two men were arrested for trying to sell a stolen bicycle out of a Lindenhurst home using a mobile phone app, according to Suffolk police.
A BMX bicycle was stolen from a home on South 3rd Street on Sunday and the victim later found the item listed for sale on OfferUp, formerly known as LetGo, police said.
An officer arranged to purchase the bicycle for $400 at a nearby home at 12:30 p.m. While meeting with the sellers, the officer found the bicycle was same one that was stolen, police said.

Michael McFarland, 27, and Shaun Cohen, 25, were both charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said.
They will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
