Efforts to Stop Drunk Driving Honored at MADD Luncheon in Lindy
MADD of Long Island honors Eastern Suffolk BOCES Milliken Technical Center for donating $4,200 for a sobriety checkpoint at its Sixth Annual Law Enforcement Recognition Luncheon at Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst.
Eastern Suffolk BOCES (ESBOCES) Milliken Technical Center (MTC) was recently honored at the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) of Long Island's Sixth Annual Law Enforcement Recognition Luncheon, which took place at Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst.
The ESBOCES MTC donated $4,200 for a sobriety checkpoint. It was among a host of police officers and high-ranking law enforcement officials and other friends of the cause who were recognized for for their outstanding work and dedication to Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) enforcement.
“This annual event is our way of saying thanks to those who dedicate their lives to this important work,” said Margaret Rebholz, chairperson of the luncheon, which drew 270 guests. She lost her son to a drunk driver.
