Halloween Performance by Lindenhurst Students a Sweet Treat For Seniors

Harding Avenue students visit the Lindenhurst Rainbow Center.

First grade students of Harding Avenue Elementary recently visited the senior citizens at the Lindenhurst Rainbow Center during the 23rd annual Halloween show.

The students paraded in costumes, sang songs, recited poems and did the Chicken Dance and Cha Cha Slide. Each senior citizen received a small pumpkin from a student and was wowed by the finale of “Proud to be an American” sung by the students.

“This is a wonderful event that the seniors really enjoy,” remarked Barbara Paladino, director of the Rainbow Center, who with retired teacher Mary Pappalardi created the program, and kept it running for 23 consecutive years.
